Around 2.5 years (30 months), children transition from our Toddler to Preschool program, and parents often wonder which stage best fits their child’s current development.
At a glance
| At a glance | Toddler Program | Preschool Program |
|---|---|---|
| Ages | 18 months - 2.5 years | 2.5 - 5 years |
| Focus | Exploring, communicating, building relationships and independence | Asking questions, solving problems, kindergarten readiness |
| Learning style | Play-based and child-led: sensory exploration, music, art, storytelling | Purposeful play: science experiments, storytelling circles, early literacy and numeracy |
| Daily outdoor play | Yes | Yes |
How to decide
For children approaching 2.5 years (30 months), either program can fit depending on developmental readiness. Consider your child’s comfort with group activities, language development, independence and how they handle transitions. We place each child based on readiness and your family’s needs, and children move up smoothly as they grow.
